The Katikati A&P Car Boot Sale (KKCBS) is run by the Katikati A&P Society. It is held monthly on Saturdays
8 am to 11 am between October and April in the Katikati A&P Showgrounds. It is operated by volunteers from the society for the benefit of the local community, raising funds to support the Annual A&P Show.

Operations
- The KKCBS opens to the Public at 8 am and closes at 11 am.
- All car boot traders must register at the gate by completing the sign in sheet and paying their Trader fee.
- The car boot trader fee is collected on the day by the KKCBS Organiser - $15 for a trailer and $10 for a Car Boot. One car or one trailer only per entry fee.
- Car boot traders will have access to the venue to begin setup from 7.15 am.
- The KKCBS Organiser will direct each car boot trader to their space. No spaces are pre- allocated.
- A 5 km speed limit applies everywhere within the KKCBS site. Drivers must take care to keep pedestrians and other drivers safe.
- KKCBS provides car boot traders with their space only. Car boot traders must bring everything they need for their space with them.
- Toilets are available.
- Katikati A&P Society does their best to ensure the KKCBS can go ahead each month. If we assess the situation to be a risk to our car boot traders or the community then we will cancel. This will be advised on the Katikati A&P Society’s Facebook page.
- All car boot traders must treat other car boot traders, visitors to the KKCBS and Katikati A&P Society Management with respect.
- If a car boot trader has queries or requires assistance, they should approach a member of the KKCBS team (wearing Hi Vis vests). The KKCBS Organiser will be identified by name tag.
- No alcohol, firearms, weapons or offensive material may be offered for sale.
Health & Safety
To the best of their ability and in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan, the Katikati A&P Society will take steps to eliminate, minimise or isolate hazards and risks for the safety of the KKCBS management, car boot traders and members of the public attending the KKCBS.
All car boot traders of the KKCBS are considered contractors and are therefore responsible to meet their obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and its amendments and any associated regulations. As well as the points above, all traders are also responsible for the following including but not limited to:
It is the responsibility of all car boot traders to familiarise themselves with Emergency Evacuation procedures, location of the first aid station and the fire emergency equipment (KK A&P Hall adjacent to the KKCBS site). If a car boot trader is unsure of this information, it is their responsibility to ask the KKCBS Organiser for clarification before the start of the KKCBS. Any Health and Safety concerns should be reported promptly to the Organiser.

Right of refusal
If Katikati A&P Society Management assess that a car boot trader is not or no longer suitable to be part of the KKCBS, the trader will not be offered a site in the future.
Car boot Requirements
The car boot trader shall comply with the provisions of all statutes, ordinances, regulations and bylaws relating to the use of the area by the KKCBS or other occupants and will also abide by the rules of all licenses, requisitions and notices issued by any competent authority in respect of the area or their use by the car boot trader.
Insurance
Katikati A&P Society will not be liable for injuries to any person, theft of or damage to property owned or controlled by car boot traders. Should claims for damages or injuries arise from or be in anyway connected with the car boot trader, the car boot trader agrees to indemnify the Katikati A&P Society from liability for such claims.
Katikati A&P Society has made every effort to ensure that the information contained in this document is true and correct at the time of publication, however Katikati A&P Society has the right to change any details deemed necessary for the good of the KKCBS and the community.

- Car boot traders must keep pathways clear for the community.
- All car boot traders must be set up and ready to before the gates are opened for the KKCBS at 8 am.
- Car boot traders must not begin packing up until the close of the market at 11am unless otherwise notified by the KKCBS Organiser.
- No vehicles can be moved on or off the car boot site until after the KKCBS closes at 11am unless notified by the KKCBS Organiser. There is a 5km speed limit on-site at all times.

- Any dogs brought onto the car boot site must be on a leash.
- No smoking or vaping inside the KKCBS area.
- No alcohol is to be consumed on or brought into the KKCBS site.
- Car boot traders must take all their stall waste with them and leave their site free of rubbish. As per the Waste Minimisation (Plastic Shopping Bags) Regulations 2018 that took effect 1 July 2019 retailers can no longer sell or distribute single-use plastic shopping bags to customers for the purpose of carrying or distributing their sold goods. Where possible please use recyclable, biodegradable and environmentally friendly products and packaging.
