HOME INDUSTRIES Competition Results 2026
After our fantastic 100th show last year, the 2026 Katikati A&P Show once again showcased the remarkable creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit that define our wonderful town. This year’s Home Industries section drew an outstanding array of entries—from exquisite baking and vibrant preserves to finely crafted needlework, floral displays, and handmade treasures—all reflecting the talent and dedication of contributors across every age group. Judges noted the exceptional standard on display, making many categories delightfully competitive and highlighting the pride our community takes in keeping these traditions thriving.
We are deeply grateful to our amazing Home Industries committee and the wonderful group of volunteers who lovingly clean and dress the hall in preparation for all those fantastic entries on the Saturday, and who return again on Sunday afternoon to clear it all away. Their hard work ensures this much‑loved showcase continues to shine year after year.
We always welcome new volunteers, even if it is only a few hours that can be given, please get in touch if you would like to join us.
In the Produce and Children’s sections, entries were noticeably up, bringing fantastic colour and energy to the hall. The dahlias, in particular, made a striking impression in the flower categories, drawing plenty of admiration. Sadly, handcrafted entries were down this year, and we received only four scarecrows—something we’re sure our creative community can improve on next time. We look forward to seeing these sections flourish again in 2027!
